Cherry Apple Pie

We mixed up apple pie with the addition of dark, sweet cherries and a decorative crust. Don’t be intimidated, it’s as easy as using a cookie cutter!

Ingredients

CRUST

3 cups all-purpose flour

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 cup cold Butter, cut into chunks

11 to 13 tablespoons cold water

FILLING

1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar

1/4 cup all-purpose flour

3/4 teaspoon Chinese five-spice powder

3 medium (3 cups) apples, peeled, cored, sliced 1/4-inch thick

4 cups pitted sweet cherries, thawed, drained if using frozen

TOPPING

1 tablespoon  Butter, melted

1 tablespoon sugar
